~"My name is Illana Burk. I have been an artist in some way for as long as I can remember. My mother is an extremely talented sign artist and muralist, so I grew up basically covered in paint and living on finger food at gallery openings.
~"Funny thing is, I always swore I would never be an artist professionally like her, because she worked so incredibly hard. After years of work in the business and marketing world, complete with MBA, I realized that she had it right all along. Being an professional artist is the hardest job I've ever had, but also the most fulfilling.
~"So, I would say that I am most inspired by my mother. Her strength and talent taught me about the importance of having respect for quality, customer service, and good design.
~"What keeps me motivated? My boyfriend has a cattle prod and uses it to keep me moving...lol (just kidding;). No really, after years in a suit, just the ability to go to work in my jammies keeps me pretty darn motivated!
