~"I started my business in July 2009, nearly a year ago. It has been a grand adventure and I am continually learning more about being in business on the Internet. I discovered eCrater first and set up my main shop there. I have also opened shops on ArtFire, Zibbet, Etsy, and CraftisArt.

~"I am a SAHM of 4. My oldest daughter has just moved into her own place. On the days when the house gets quiet, I have three cats that keep me company and supervise whatever I’m doing.

~"I have enjoyed sewing and making crafts for our home for many years. I very much enjoy starting with an idea and ending up with a useful, beautiful item. Uniquely handcrafted items make lasting and thoughtful gifts, putting the, "You are special to me," back in gift giving.

~"I try to use rescued and recycled materials whenever possible. These materials come from thrift stores, garage or estate sales, a crafter’s recycling store, and a wonderful nonprofit that diverts designer samples from our landfill. I have also taken in unwanted materials from those who no longer plan on using them.

~"A recent request by a group that works with autistic children and their families resulted in the autism awareness crosses now available in my shop. According to the Autism Society: “Autism prevalence is now one in every 110 children in America - that’s 13 million families and growing who live with autism today.” Research continues and one day the cause of this disabling disorder will be discovered.
